I teach middle school math at Riverside Middle School. I love helping students find the “aha” moment — where numbers stop being scary and start being fun.
I've been teaching math for 11 years, the last 6 of them at Riverside Middle School. Before that, I taught in a small rural district in Ohio, where I first fell in love with pre-algebra — watching students go from "I hate math" to "wait, that's kind of cool" never gets old.
I have a B.S. in Mathematics from Ohio State and a master's in Curriculum & Instruction from Kent State. Outside the classroom, I coach the school's Math Olympiad team and spend a lot of time hiking with my dog, Euclid.
Every student can do math. My job isn't to hand out answers — it's to build the confidence to try, get it wrong, and try again.— Teaching philosophy
My classroom mascot is a stuffed pi symbol named Archimedes.
Years teaching — and I still learn something new from students every week.
Favorite weekend activity: hiking with my dog, Euclid.
